See Shepard Fairy on Colbert last week? Dude looks like “one of us” with his Clash t-shirt and Black Flag and Buzzcocks buttons on his jean jacket.

The man behind OBEY admits “criminal” status on the way to the bank with his stencil goes POP! stylee. Nice to see wheatpaste art taken to a new level.

If this image is a prelude, soon to be forgotten and replaced by a more tangible understanding of the man, then it was all a part of the game of good politics. If, in four years, or eight, this image is still in circulation, and its statuesque vagueness remains all we know of the man, then we will regret the day we first saw it.

His statement:
“As most of you know, I’m a big believer in speaking up for all who suffer injustice, regardless of gender, race, sexual orientation or in this case, species! And I’m all for adopting from the shelter. The image I created for this print reminds me of a dog I had as kid, a mutt named Honey.”
